This is an absolutely exquisite and rare desk set. This was made by WMF in Germany for export to France. The backstamp show is that it is silver plated but clearly it is a brass finish. Made for export to France this includes the double inkwell, the blotter and the exceptional letter holder stand. All of them are finished in this very clean sleek design with roses impressed in a border around the pieces. It would be hard finding a set that is in better condition or more beautifully designed! The only flaw is it is missing one ink jar, just a glass jar to fit inside the ink well. One could probably be sourced reasonably easily.
