Sussex Cottage
The County of Sussex
lies on the south coast
of England and its stone and tile cottages are typical of many parts of this rural county. The beams above the window are of stout English oak and the way in which the roof dips indicates one of the ancient beams distorting with age. The leaded light windows are made of diagonal metal containing
small pieces of thick glass to shield against the relentless wind which bellows up the English Channel. Inside the cottage one can imagine the substantial fireplace in the living area with one small bedroom upstairs with perhaps a cubical for the children. These cottages delight the eye of the visitors to Sussex and are full of charm and tranquility.
