This is an adorable set of ceramic novelty salt and pepper shakers that were made in Japan. In the Brown Betty style, one shaker is a teapot and the other a coffeepot, with high gloss dark brown glaze on redware. The shakers appear never used and include their original cork plugs that do show some ageing. The shakers are impressed "JAPAN" on the bottom. The coffeepot shakers measures 2 7/8" tall x 2" diameter x 2.75" long and the teapot measures 2" tall x 2" in diameter x 3 1/8" long. Wonderful addition to the shaker collection and/or to the kitchen/table.
