For sale is a really fun and rare treat - a figural porcelain stacked pot made by Russian American artist Irina Zaytceva in the later 20th century . Irina Zaytceva was born in Moscow and graduated from the Moscow Art Institute in 1982 with degree in book illustration but figured out that her true love was sculpting in porcelain. Who can blame her! :) Her pieces can be seen in museums in the United States as well as abroad like the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. These are usually called stacked teapots though it could be a coffee pot and creamer or you can use it for anything else you'd like. Display is off course the norm but you can water your flowers with it as well :) Both pieces are potted in her usual whimsical way with the faces to the front and the hand forming the handle. a snake as the finial on the lid and another to the front of the bigger pot. The bottom pot sits on four feet. I think she referred to these pieces as the snake charmers. The pieces are almost in the direction of folk art. Her pieces just make you smile every time you look at them and these stacked ones are very hard to find! Definitely unlike anything else you'll come across. The set is in perfect condition. There is an area to the top edge of the bigger pot that look like some minor chips but they are from when she made it and not real damage. The bigger pot is signed on the back in orange I. Zaytceva and again underneath I. sZ. with a half moon or banana looking thing. The smaller pot is signed I.Z in orange in the back. The stacked set is about 14 inches tall,. The bottom bigger pot is 7.375 inches tall, about 7.75 inches from handle to spout and 3.75 inches deep. The smaller pot and its lid are 6.75 inches tall (including the ring that would sit inside the other pot) , 5.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. US USA United States of America 20thC Vintage
