I have been fortunate enough to have purchased two of the rarest Hollywood movie set items that I have ever owned. In the estate were two catalogs of rentals available to Hollywood studios to rent. A catalog of aircraft to rent by the day and a catalog of automobiles also to rent by the day. Both catalogs contain glossy 8 by 10 photos mounted in faux leather binders. I am listing both of them here today on eBay along with some individual Hollywood transportation photos of the same period.
This listing is for a 8 by 10 photo an English 1929 Bean touring car. (Car #29). It is in excellent condition. It has a canvas attachment. So this was probably originally in a catalog. On the back of the photo is the rental information. An interesting fact that the rental price has been reduced from $42.50 a day to $35 a day. The car has 1932 California plates. The reduction in price most likely because of the depression.
