A very scarce Shelley Art Deco "Gold Band" 12208 Regent shape demitasse cup & saucer. C.1933. 

Pattern No 12208/4: Green ground with gold band and lines. Pale green cup interior with 2 gold lines. Gold ring handle. Entered into pattern book during or after 1933.

The shape of this cup and saucer is the Regent shape which was produced between 1930 and 1962. 

The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark. Retailed for Lawley's, Regent Street, London.

Dimensions: demitasse cup base 39mm (1.5 inches) / diameter across top of cup 74mm (2.8 inches) / height of cup 60mm (2.4 inches) / diameter of saucer 120mm (4.75 inches).

Condition: Both pieces are in very good clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or rubbing. Just the odd miniscule white mark against the green ground which can only be seen under very close scrutiny. Both pieces have a very good "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
