An exquisite Shelley white & gold Ludlow shape demitasse / coffee cup & saucer. C.1940+.

No pattern number: Plain optical white ground with gold trim and gold cup handle. 

The back stamp is the 1940-1966 green cartouche mark. 

The shape of this cup & saucer is the Ludlow shape which was produced between 1938 & 1966.

Dimensions: diameter of cup base 30mm (1.2 inches) / diameter across top of cup 60mm (2.25 inches) / height of cup 54mm (2.25 inches) / diameter of saucer 117mm (4.6 inches).

Condition: Both pieces are in excellent clean pristine condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, scratching, rubbing or any signs of wear. All gilding is in excellent order. Both pieces have an excellent "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
