About the book >.>.> PREFACE BY DAVID SASSOON I have been privileged to enjoy a career that spans over fifty years, doing what I most enjoy, designing glamorous clothes for some of the most beautiful and charismatic women in the world. I have worked from Couture to ready-to-wear with a wonderful team of talented professionals who have become my 'family and friends; without them the company would not be what it is today. Belinda Bellville who founded the company was my business partner for twenty-five years, she was my inspiration and mentor without her there would be no Bellville Sassoon. After Belinda retired in 1982, Lorcan Mullany joined the company and for the last twenty-one years we have worked very closely. Lorcan brings to the collection his own personal stamp, which has extended our range and brought new fans from all over the world. We sell our collections in America, Asia, the Middle East, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK. Lorcan is the way forward for the company and we have many exciting new projects planned together. I have enjoyed working with Sinty Stemp who has worked tirelessly on this book, which has been a rediscovery of my early career and my journey through the turbulent world of creative fashion. I have enjoyed the journey and this book is about how it all began and developed. My thanks to Orna Frommer-Dawson for designing a stylish and colourful book. My special thanks ge also to Felicity Green who has nurtured and encouraged this project from the start. (OS)
