Antique WALKER & HALL Silver Plated Cake Fruit Basket

A stunning basket made in 1912 in Sheffield, England, by the renowned company Walker and Hall. One of the finest pieces and designs from this maker.

The basket has beautiful repoussé motifs and a movable handle.

In a lovely condition, the basket has a few superficial marks/tarnish in places (mostly underneath) and a few tiny marks which appear to be loss of plate as would be expected from use and age (see photos). Overall though it looks fantastic.

These pretty baskets make wonderful table centre pieces for fruit, cakes, bread.

Walker and Hall stamp to the base. The letter t hallmark is for 1912 (as taken from a W&H hallmark identification website - see photo).
