For sale is a superb open salt dish made by Meissen in
about 1760 . One of the nicest ones I have seen with a fairly typical
oval shape to it and a hand painted floral arrangement to the top but
the best part is the decoration of the sides. The front and back both
have a small scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding while one side
has a little fruit scene to it and the other a bird scene. The scenes
are surrounded by some nice gold trim with a really nice green trim
going all around the salt dish. A few single flowers are towards the
bottom part. The open salt dish is in superb condition with some minor
wear to the gilding but that is it. The piece is marked with the
under glaze blue crossed swords with the dots between the bottom part on
the underside as shown. It is 1.5 inches tall, 4.125 inches wide
and 3 inches deep. 18th century German Germany Salznapf Szene Gewuerzschale Schale Spice dish
