  • Beschreibung: Blick auf das gotische Rathaus der belgischen Hauptstadt Brüssel, das 1401 bis 1421 von Jacob VAN TIENEN erbaut wurde. Der Belfried in der Mittelachse der Fassade bestimmt den Eindruck der imposanten Architektur, auf dessen Spitze steht eine vergoldete Statue des mit dem Drachen kämpfenden Erzengel Michael, dem Schutzpatron der Stadt Brüssel zu sehen ist. Auf dem Platz, dem Grote Markt, haben sich zahlreiche Passanten eingefunden. Sie betrachtend das Bauwerk, flanieren oder begleiten ein Pferdegespann über den Platz.

  • Description: View of the Gothic City Hall of the Belgian capital Brussels, built by Jacob VAN TIENEN from 1401 to 1421. The Belfry in the central axis of the façade determines the impression of the imposing architecture, on top of which stands a gilded statue of the Archangel Michael fighting the dragon, the patron saint of the city of Brussels. Numerous passers-by have gathered in the square, the Grote Markt. They gaze at the building, stroll or accompany a horse-drawn carriage across the square.
