• Beschreibung: Lustiges Genrebild in der Stube eines Hauses. Ein junges Mädchen in Tracht und mit einer Maske in den Händen sieht amüsiert und betroffen zugleich zu Boden während eine sitzende Alte wild gestikulierend auf sie einredet. Offenbar ist das Mädchen, wie die Uhr an der Wand einerseits sowie die Maske in der Hand andererseits vermuten lässt, erst am frühen Morgen von einem Maskenball zurückgekehrt, worüber sich die sorgende Mutter(?) sichtbar ärgert.

• Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Trägerblatt ist schwach verschmutzt und entlang der Kanten leicht verfärbt sowie stellenweise bestoßen. Die rechte Blattkante ist deutlich durch Knicke und Randeinrisse beschädigt. Die Darstellung macht einen tadellosen Eindruck.

• Date: 19th century


• Description: Funny genre painting in the parlour of a house. A young girl in traditional costume and with a mask in her hands looks amused and concerned at the same time while a seated old woman gesticulates wildly at her. Apparently, as the clock on the wall on the one hand and the mask in her hand on the other suggest, the girl has only returned from a masked ball early in the morning, which visibly annoys her caring mother(?).

• Condition: Good condition. The backing sheet is slightly soiled and discoloured along the edges as well as bumped in places. The right edge of the sheet is clearly damaged by creases and marginal tears. The image makes an impeccable impression.
