Here is an old 400 ft 16mm home movie dating from 1931 based on the homemade title at the start of the film that reads "HAWAIIAN PARTY AT SHEARER RES. APRIL 10 1931".
Written on the film canister is the following information:
  • Hawaiian Party Shearer RES.
  • Claude Party Dec. 1931 (Birthday Party)
  • Notre Dame & Army (Football Game)
  • Union & R.P. I. (Football Game)
This film once belonged to "L.J. Shearer" from Cohoes, NY. Please see all the pictures I put up to get a good feel for the content that is on this reel as they are a main part of the description. From what I saw in the film there are two parties - one is a Hawaiian and the other was "Claude's Birth Night Party" as you can see a poster on a wall about it.

The other footage shows football games, but the best footage is Union vs R.P. I. as you can see a lot of great old advertising signs plus some great close ups of the game. The footage of the Notre Dame game was shot from afar.

There were two games played in 1931 that Union College played vs R.P.I. (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). Both colleges are located in Albany, New York.
The film appears to be in great condition considering it is over 93 years old now with no issues that I could see. There is no vinegar smell.

Thanks for looking and please check out the other home movies I am selling this week. I will combine shipping for U.S. buyers only. Winner must pay within 4 days of the end of the auction or eBay will automatically cancel the transaction.
