Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour, once described by Rolling Stone as 'perhaps the most famous singer alive in Senegal and much of Africa' and ranked 69th on the magazine's list of the greatest singers of all time. It is easy to say that Youssou N'Dour is an icon. 'The Guide (Wommat)' is his most successful work commercially. The duet with Neneh Cherry, '7 Seconds', is still one of the most successful and important protest songs of the 20th century.
