Hamilton Oak Regulator Wall Clock

Westminster Chimes

Running, Chiming, & Striking Condition

Circa 1986

Item Description

Nice vintage Hamilton Regulator Wall Clock for you here.  Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.

For your buying consideration is this nice vintage wall clock from the Hamilton Clock Company in Lancaster, PA (no longer in business).   Would make a great gift or keep for yourself.

The oak wood case on this clock is in very good condition.  No missing parts or splits/cracks anywhere.  Nice brass look lacquered metal plates at the four corners of the clock door.  No crazing to the clock finish.  Black and gold stencils around the clock face and pendulum observation area. A white knob on the case door.  The door is securely attached to the case by the hinges.  Have been collecting/dealing in clocks for 35 plus years and have never come across this model clock before.  Has "E86" stamped on the inside floor of the case.  Probably means clock was made in 1986.

The glass over the clock face and pendulum bob area is still in good shape, no cracking or blistering.  White painted metal clock face shows some minor wear around wind holes, expect it is original.  Says "Hamilton" on the clock face.  This clock would make a nice addition to your current collection of clocks.

The clock has a Westminster Chimes Unit.  Does the chime every 15 minutes, and then strikes the hours on the hour.  Has a 5 rod strike unit, all securely in place.  Beautiful brass look pendulum bob still in place.

No maker marks on the front plate of the movement.  Some minor loss of finish to the front plate of the movement.  The clock movement will run for a few seconds but then stops, not getting a good beat with pendulum in place.  Does beat well at faster speed of course with pendulum off.  The clock does run, strike, and chime as expected.  The movement's bushings has been lubricated at the front plate.

The Hamilton Wall clock stands 17.5" tall, by 11.75" across, by 5-5/8" wide.  The clock face is 6.25" across.  The clock will come with a wind key.  Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.  This clock is being sold in running, striking, and chiming condition.

As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate.  If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear.  One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art.  They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks.  Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well.  With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.

Make sure that this item meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it.   The item can be returned, there is a 15% restocking fee to do so.  So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it.

We are selling this clock in running condition at this juncture (running, striking or chiming), no warranty intended.  There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order.
