An original, 7 January 1968 signed four page handwritten letter from two WWII buddies, including ten photographs.  The handwritten letter is from a Melvin Enquist from Minneapolis, MN to his WWII buddy, Elwin R. Williams of Berkeley, CA.

The letter reflects friendly correspondence from the Melvin to Elwin. As the letter begins, "As for ghosts out of the past you are a welcome one.  I came home late that night (mtg somewhere) and found your letter on my dresser, well I just stopped and standing there went back some 20 plus years."   The letter continues about his family life in a positive way. 

Included are ten photographs that Melvin put together, three are of WWII. " I have been looking over some snaps of the last few years so you can see the family and some of our activities."  Melvin writes about, "We have a good friend at Berkeley, Dr. John Gaustad.  He is the younger brother of my brother in law."  Melvin writes, " One week-end we blasted duck hunted ponds. I used up 900 lbs of high explosives and we have 3 ponds 15' x 20' x 100' long now.  Melvin continues to write about his life since they last met some 20 plus years ago.  Melvin writes positively about his family life and the rigors of maintaining a few properties.

Condition:  The letter is in very good condition.   The envelope is in fair, torn [opened top and side] condition.  The color photogrpahs are from 1966 - 1967 and remain in good to very good condition.  The WWII black & white photos remain in good plus to very good condition .
