Item description:

Steam locomotive 62 1007 of the German Reichsbahn.

■ Only class 62 locomotive with an IT number
■ Operating status: 1970

The 62 series was developed and delivered by the Henschel company for the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft in the 1920s. The engines were two-cylinder superheated steam locomotives. A total of 15 copies were made. Although the locomotives were built in 1928, the Deutsche Reichsbahn did not take delivery of 62 003–015 until 1932. The reasons for this were the low demand and the excessive price of the locomotives.
After the Second World War, eight locomotives remained with the Deutsche Reichsbahn. 62 007 was the only one given a computer number.
