This is a Aegasteroceras Scunthorpe ammonite which has been beautifully prepared and polished on both sides. It is a good sized specimen and has beautiful colour, calcite preservation and visible sutures. Its an amazing display piece due to its rarity. It was collected many years ago from the Frodingham Ironstone, Connesby Quarry, Scunthorpe, England. Jurassic, approx 200 million years old. Ammonite does have a repair (see pictures).

The ammonite measures approx 6.7cm in diameter.
