For sale is a figurine made by Minton between 1845 and 1860. Made of Parian ( an unglazed type of porcelain meant to imitate marble ) porcelain is is of a spaniel dog lying on a pillow with tassels on each corner. The figure is nicely modeled plus the paste is so smooth and shows the detail so well since there is no glaze to obscure it. The figurine is in superb condition with just a couple of tiny black firing spots from when it was made. The piece is 2.25 inches tall, 4.375 inches wide and 2.375 inches deep. The underside base is marked with the impressed arrow with three dots marks similar to the ermine mark but used on Parian figures between 1845 and 1860 plus a circle with a dot in the center which I thought might be a year mark but it's not on the list. A couple of lightly incised numbers almost impossible to see next to that. A really fun figurine! 19thC Porzellan Figur Porzellanfigur Hund Hundefigur English England
