Transformers G1 Slugslinger - 1987

Transformers: The Headmasters is a Japanese anime television series that is a part of the Transformers robot superhero franchise.
It aired from July 3, 1987 to March 25, 1988, and its 17:00–17:30 timeslot was used to broadcast Mashin Hero Wataru at the end of its broadcast. It serves as the first sequel series to the Japanese dub of the original 1985 The Transformers cartoon series in the Generation 1 franchise, followed by Transformers: Super-God Masterforce.
Slugslinger is a Decepticon Targetmaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Slugslinger was a Decepticon aerial warrior partnered with Misfire and Triggerhappy. Their campaigns typically took place far away from recognisable worlds such as Cybertron, Earth, and Chaar, battling against Pointblank and other Autobots on deep space missions. In 2011, Slugslinger and his men allied themselves with Scorponok just before his siege of the planet Master began.

The identification on the toy shows a date of 1987. This fits with the tv cartoon series that ran from 1987 to 1988 on Japanese tv.
But, difficult to tell whether this model is from the Japanese continuity cartoon series or the American spin-off version.
As the toy is dated 1987 and the American spin-off wasn't broadcast until 2011, it's most likely from the original Japanese cartoon series.
