The 2001 Britannia design is the work of Philip Nathan, also known for designing the modern day Britannia image which is featured on all even numbered years since the series began in 1997. His drew inspiration from the iconic Una and the lion.
The set contains a 1 oz Britannia, a 1/2 oz Britannia, a 1/4 oz Britannia, and a 1/10 oz Britannia each dated 2001. All 4 coins are absolutely remarkable. With exception to a tiny nic on the 1/4 ounce coin, (which is barely noticeable, documented in the last photo) all other coins are absolutely free of defects to the naked eye. No spotting, no toning, no scratches. A Truly amazing set of coins.
The coins arrive in their original display case from the Royal Mint along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
