For sale is a figurine of a lady doing some gardening made by Niderviller around 1800. I have not seen a figure by them in this style - reminds me more of Ludwigsburg figurines. The lady is dressed nicely with some flowers in her apron and leaning on a flower pot filled with dirt that is standing on top of the railing. Nice base with a bit of scroll work to the front highlighted with gilding. The figure is nicely modeled and hand painted. The piece is extremely solid and heavy being made of one solid piece of porcelain instead of pieces by other makers that have air holes in them. A typical feature for this maker! The figurine is in great condition with some chips to the hat, a couple of chips to the leaves of the flowers in her apron and slight chipping to an area of the base edge on the left side of the scrolls. She displays really nicely! As is the case with most of their figurines she is unmarked. The figurine is 4.875 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 1.625 inches deep. I also have to male counter part which I will add to the site as well. Niderville 18thC 19thC 18th 19th century French France
