NOTE TO BIDDERS. THE BOAT AUCTION WAS MID PERIOD WHEN A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH eBay DROPPED IT OFFLINE.
As a result, the auction has had to be restarted. Sincere apologies to all those following and bidding.

'Zaca' has been owned by myself since June 2022, I have been cruising the Thames between Lechlade and Oxford while also undertaking a substantial refit the technical items having been installed professioanlly by Cotswold Boat Hire. The boat is currently ashore at Cotswold Boat Hire located at Buscot Lock, close to Lechlade on Thames, the upper Thames limit for cruising vessels. The boat is ready for launch and use, the outstanding issues referred to below are simply what I would wish to improve at the next stage, the new owner may be content to continue using the vessel as is and carry out any work considered necessary at a later stage.

The refit includes substantial improvements to the electrical system with three new high amp batteries, 2 service, one engine, plus all necessary switching. A 600watt inverter has been added for use of small amperage items, computers etc.New water system including pressurised H&C water for domestic and new shower installation operating from the engine heat exchanger.. New toilet. There is also a 12v/240v 'Cool Box' that slots nicely beneath the forward bunks and works extremely well if a bag of ice is added before use. Invoices totalling in excess of £4000 are available.

Due to a house move, I'm now living apx 150 miles away, I have to accept that it's impractical to continue with the refit and regular cruising. While the boat is functional and able for immediate cruising, there are sections as yet to be attended to.. as follows.

Some interior sanding and varnishing in the saloon area, notably the small companionway steps and minor section of that local area. The toilet/shower cubicle is all functioning, however the lining around the window area requires attention. Cooker has a grill and oven and works efficiently, two gas bottles are located in the cockpit. Boat has a current safety certificate.

The main area in need of refurbishing is the cockpit. One of the windows has has suffered a crack, it doesn't let in rainwater, the window system is designed to fold down to increase air-draft allowing navigation under low bridges so replacing the glass should not become a major issue. The windscreen wiper motor needs replacing, there is a marine VHF radio for lower Thames and inshore waters use. The consol is in need of refurbishment. The small electrical switching/fuse panel should ideally be replaced. Flooring requires replacement carpeting, I had intended to replace the cockpit floor in the longer term, this would substantially improve the overall appearence of Zaca. The canopy is weatherproof but in need of attention, or if not attended to will likely need replacing after the coming season.

I'm attempting here to outline the current condition of the boat as I see it, I'm very conscious that people may have to undertake a lengthy drive to view the vessel and having suffered too many disappointments myself when in pursuit of another boat I'm doing my utmost to present an accurate description of the condition. I would dearly like to have finished the refit and enjoyed several seasons cruising the length of the non-tidal Thames.

The photographs of the interior somehow (I'm no great photographer).. do the boat rather more than justice... especially the cockpit.. The interior photos, if you consider them on a scale of 1 to 10 to be ten, then scale it down to between 7 and 8 for a more accurate number. The cockpit is the remaining area in need of attention, the photo could be scaled down to a 5. The work needing to be carried out can be fairly described as maintenance, very little falling into the category of repair. Further expenditure would obviously depend on how willing the new owner would be to undertake the remaining refurbishment as opposed to depending on professional help. Please do keep in mind that the boat was built circa 1970 and is priced economically for someone wishing to enjoy safe cruising with most of the domestic advantages we enjoy at home.  I sincerely hope that the above description is a fair summation of the boats condition.
