For sale is a really nice and rare figurine representing
Flora / Sense of Smell made by Bow around the mid 18th century - circa
1765. The figure is of a lady sitting on a tree stump on a typical base
for this period with scrolls all around highlighted in pink, blue and
gold. She is bending down to smell the flowers in her right hand, has
more flowers filling her apron as well as flowers on top of the base and
by her side. The best part are the amazingly well painted flowers on
her skirt. As nice as it gets for this maker! The piece is in great
condition with the expected minor damage to the flowers and leaves which have been well restored at some point. It's really in amazing shape
given the fragile nature of the piece. She displays perfectly! The
figurine is marked underneath with an unusual blue dagger and dot mark.
Not a version of the mark ones sees often. Red is more common. The
figurine is 7 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. England
