Scans produced from Lt. Eric George Cole's WW2 photo album . Album covers Eric's service from Sandhurst ( group photo )in 1942 to Wars end June 1945.

In addition to the individual photos , the album pages,  which have captions have also been scanned in lower resolution .

One photo shows a parachuting nurse over an Oxfordshire airfield .

There is a certificate from when Eric was confirmed at St.Barnabas Church ,Clapham Common in 1933 . A couple of photos show him as a young boy .

Eric saw service in Italy with 4th Bn .There are 3 nice photos taken at Monte San Pietro near Cassino . 2 feature in makeshift camp "sanger " on frontline and another of a para looking out of a observation post .

 In 1944 , Eric is seen in Greece . Playing his part in Operation Manna .. Here the men of 2nd Independant Para Brigade,  along with Greek forces were in battle against the withdrawing German army . There is a photo of the men in transport plane , 3 of the drop at Megara .

There are 4 photos of jeeps in Greece , one of these shows men of Special Boat service , the others have paras with jeeps . One photo shows a temporary para cemetery in Athens . A few photos show patrols / fighting in Athens . towards end of album , photos include the men attending a festival of Liberation.

There are a good number of photos of the men .

The last photo is a group photo of 2nd Independant Parachute Brigade Officers taken at Bivino camp , near Foggia,  Italy June 1945 . Here Eric has risen to rank of captain .
