This unique sculpture by Leo Salazar is a one-of-a-kind, hand-carved piece depicting a Santo figure. The artist used wood as the main material [refusing to use electric tools or vices and holding it in his lap- "I always hold the figure on my lap. You must be close to the wood to do good work"] and it is signed by the artist himself. The sculpture stands at 10 inches tall and 5 inches wide, with a depth of 3.5 inches. The Santo figure has religious and cultural significance, as it is a representation of a Saint and is part of Hispanic folk art. The sculpture is an original, first edition piece, and it was produced in the 1960s in Taos, New Mexico, USA. This piece has provenance (my mother purchased it directly from Leo) and is perfect for any art collector or enthusiast.
