Here's a group of three vintage milk or cream jugs, perfect for vintage tea parties. The shorter gold chintz jug was made by Spencer Stevenson under the Royal Stuart trade name. Its printed mark was in use between 1951 and 1960. The taller gold chintz jug was made by Colclough China at the Vale works and its printed mark was in use between 1945 and 1948. The smallest jug was made by E. Brain & Co under their Foley trade name, and its printed mark was in use from 1945 to 1963. (Acknowledgements to Marks4Antiques.com.)

The Royal Stuart jug is 8 cm (3.25 inches) tall at the spout and holds 230 mls (8 fluid ounces); the Colclough (Vale) jug is 9 cm (3.5 inches) tall at the spout and holds 230 mls; and the Foley jug is 8 cm (3.25 inches) tall at the spout and holds 140 ml. The group of three weighs 385 grams before packaging.

There are no chips, cracks or crazing, and no visible surface wear on the Foley and Royal Stuart jugs. The Colclough jug has no chips, cracks or crazing, but it does have some rubbing to the gold chintz pattern on the body and the gold line trims. All jugs are perfectly functional and (in my opinion) safe for food use.

My packaging is always careful, and I use a mix of recycled, recyclable, biodegradable and new materials, so your order should arrive with you in the same condition it leaves me. Orders placed before 14:00 GMT will be despatched the same (or at weekends the next) working day.
