Vehicle Details

-solid body panels, no through rust or bubbles on exterior. Rust under cab is circled in photos. Solid floor boards, door posts, drip rails, etc..

-truck appears to have had some spot repairs to its paint since original, but they were a long time ago and the Arizona sun have given this truck a nice overall patina. When I purchased the non-running truck in 2016, the Arizona license plate said the last registration was 1982. Truck reportedly spent its early life in Buckeye, AZ used as the fire chief’s truck, though I don’t have documentation of that.

-390 V8 was pulled from a running/driving ‘62 Thunderbird that I got to drive before purchase. The seller was starting a restomod on the tbird and moved to a later model drivetrain. I was able to see the seller’s rebuild receipt dated from the 1990s which gave me the confidence it was a 390 and not a 352/360. Once at home, I verified the stroke to be correct for a 390. The winning bidder is welcome to verify that for themselves as well. Engine internals are stock. Pertronix ignition and Edelbrock 600cfm carb.

-power steering from a 73-79 F series was retrofitted to this truck. It is smooth, quiet, and leak free, and allows for easy breezy driving parking at cruise events. The correct c9ta3590e pitman arm was sourced to maintain appropriate steering geometry for this retrofit.

-rear axle was retrofitted from a 73-79 F series for improved aesthetics, matching front and rear widths. This is an upgrade from the 65-72 rear axles which were 3” narrower hub to hub than the front, causing an odd appearance. Rear has quiet 2.75:1 gears for effortlessly matching freeway traffic.

-full length exhaust system is professionally installed and includes Walker turbo mufflers for a throaty yet mellow tone.

-4 speed NP435 transmission shifts smoothly

-original seat was professionally recovered in 2016 with a late model Ford grey fabric as seen in the photos and is in spotless condition. I since covered it with the saddle blanket covers for a more rustic look and feel.

-original but non-operating AM radio is in the unmolested dash. Truck has a Pioneer Bluetooth head unit, Kicker door speakers, and Rockford-Fosgate powered sub behind the seat for your favorite playlists.

-fuel tank has been relocated out of the cab to the rear of the truck for added safety.

-all gauges, lights, and turn signals work. Horn works but the switch is temporarily on the steering column, not connected at the steering wheel. Heater box with new core is included in the sale but was not installed at the time of pictures.

-period correct accessory spare tire carrier in truck bed

-light window tint professionally installed on rear window
