Early wood box in great condition.  I have not seen a small box this old with lines so straight.  The lid appears to be burled, but it may just need to be thoroughly cleaned.  It has metal shims inserted at an angle on each corner, which I have not seen nor know how to date.  It is about 8" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2".  Really neat old piece.
