For sale is a great figurine of a chow-chow dog made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century . It was first designed by Konrad Schmid during the earlier part of thr 20th century. He made some amazing models of dogs and along with his coworker Kaerner they made what are still the best figures out there today I believe. The figurine is superbly modeled and painted. Lot of detail to the figure! He is about 5.5 inches tall, 3 inches deep and 7 inches long. The figure is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath as well as the model number, letters K.S. incised, the green shield mark with Nymphenburg under that and Western Germany under that. . The left back leg is marked with the painter's mark Z in white though as shown. He is in the same condition as when he was first made but does ahve some white spots especially in one area on the back side as shown from when he was made. Not unuusal for this maker to have some minor imperfections and it does not distract from this superb figurine!  German Germany 20thC Hundefigur vintage
