This Victorian walking cane by Brigg has a sterling silver handle that has a stylish snakeskin pattern and is fully hallmarked for Thomas Johnson II 1894.

This fine quality antique stick has an ebony shaft with a brass ferrule and was retailed by Brigg of London.

Thomas Brigg & Sons, said to have been founded in 1836, were makers of fine quality umbrellas and canes in London. They merged with the London firm of Swaine & Adeney to form Swaine, Adeney, Brigg & Sons Ltd in 1943.

A very nice usable stick that would make a great gift for a walking stick collector.

Date: 1894.

Hallmarked: Lion for sterling silver. Leopard's Head for London. Date letter T for 1894. Maker's mark T.J for Thomas Johnson II. Also marked Brigg.
