Presented is a wonderful quality English Georgian sterling silver three piece tea set. This set was made by Samuel Wheatley and John Evans, and dates to 1810. The set is done in a lovely traditional style, with decorative ribbing on the lower half of the body and scrolled handles. The rim of each piece is finely gadrooned. Each piece sits on four ball form feet. The interior of the creamer and the sugar bowl both have a gold wash. Each piece is monogrammed MMD in flowing script on the handle, or on both handles in the case of the sugar bowl.

The set consists of:

Each piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter P for 1810, the duty mark of King George III's head, and the maker's mark for Samuel Wheatley & John Evans. The maker's mark is partially worn on both the creamer and the sugar bowl, but is quite clear on the underside of the teapot. The lid of the teapot is also hallmarked with the date letter and the lion passant.

The set is in great overall condition. There is some wear to the gold wash of the creamer and sugar bowl. The teapot has had a repair/reinforcement to one of the feet, which is not noticeable without turning the pot over to inspect it and is not visible from the interior. There is a slight dent where the finial of the lid has struck the handle of the teapot. There are no splits, no leaks, no major dents, no monogram removals, and no other repairs.

The total weight for the set is 1122 grams or 39.6 regular ounces.
