For sale is a superb plate made by KPM in the early 19th century . KPM didn't use the red orb as a painter's mark yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time and sometimes a symbol that represents an individual painter as is the case here where we have two different painter's marks. The plate is hand painted with a gentleman in the center standing in some greenery. An unusual motif and really very nice. He is dressed in a fancy outfit and the shirt looks to be bursting at the front which I find funny. The rim has a superb blue ground with a nice gold trim - the blue being the very rare unglazed matte type color. My favorite color of all! A really nice plate!!
