Here we have up for auction an old high-voltage paper-in-oil capacitor, removed from a Henry 2k amplifier from the early 1960s. No, I don't know the suffix numeral from that particular "2k" model. There were more than a few. 

As shown in the pic, it measures very close to the marked capacitance value. 

It was removed from service when the amplifier's power transformer failed, and the replacement transformer's rectifier/filter circuit did not call for this part.

I DID *NOT* TEST FOR HIGH VOLTAGE INSULATION BREAKDOWN!

And I won't. If it had broken down previously, it should have reduced the capacitance measurement, right? 

Besides, it's old, and might very well break down with no warning at all. Hence the magic Ebay phrase:

Yes the dirt and dust are all authentic. It will ship with the shorting wire (safety wire) in place.
