Beautiful solid teak Indonesian rice chest, that has been converted to a coffee table. Ornate carvings on the side.
The overall effect is contemporary and goes well with Provincial or Hamptons styling, as well as rustic or Asian styling.
There are two lids on the top opening up to a large hollow space that creates useful storage. This was originally used to hold rice.
Polishes up well with bees wax. There are minor marks of use on the surface, from cups and food etc, but the wood patina and texture is so varied that they blend in.
It is large: 1.94m x 1m, and 48cm high.
It is also very heavy, being solid wood, so bear that in mind for carrying. (It is easily accessible at our end).
Pick up only Blackburn Vic 3130.
Much loved and sad to part with it.
