Antique Japanese Wood Panel With Shibayama Decoration In Wood, Bone And Morher of Pearl

Era late Meiji early Taisho, late C19 early C20

Single wood panel with lovely decoration of a Sambaso Dancer Holding a Parasol (although no hat, so maybe a different character)

Branch of a tree above in brown lacquer with blossoms and leaves from bone and mother of pearl.

THIS PANEL IS DAMAGED AND HAS SUSTAINED MULTIPLE LOSSES, MOST NOTABLY TO THE ARMS. RESTORATION WOULD BE STRAIGHTFORWARD BUT OBVIOUSLY AN ADDITIONAL EXPENSE. THIS IS REFLECTED IN THE LOW PRICE.

PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT ALL THE IMAGES PROVIDED AND REQUEST ADDITIONAL IMAGES IF REQUIRED.

The panel looks to be mahogany.

Signature on bone plaque lower left.

Dimensions: 67cm x 34cm
