Vintage:  Complete CORBIN 1349 1/2 entry mortise lock set.  Very hard to find, especially in such fine restored condition. Comes with a vintage brass Corbin cylinder and two keys.  

Large and heavy brass faceplate with plate clearly maker marked 'CORBIN', one of America's great manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th Century and the first half of the 20th Century .  Mortise is intended to be used with a thumb latch handle on the outside of the door (included in the set) and a turn knob from the inside of the door (included in the set).  Also will accommodate a thumb turn lock for the dead bolt from the inside of the door (included in the set).  

Mortise Lock Dimensions as follows:

BOX:  The box is 3 7/8" deep from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the back of the box and the box is 5 1/2" top to bottom. 

SCREWS:  The screws are on 6 3/4" centers.

FACEPLATE:  Brass front plate measures  7 5/8" long, 1 1/4" wide, 3/16" thick.

BACKSET:  The backset (the distance from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of the knob post hole is 2 3/4"

DROP:  The drop (the distance from the center of the key cylinder hole to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".

FUNCTIONALITY: Designed for turn knob from the inside of the door (included in the set) and for a thumb press handle (included in the set) to be used from the outside of the door. 

KNOB POST SHAFT: Utilizes a 5/16" half post to hold the interior knob (included in the set).

THUMB TURN DISC:  The lock also utilizes a thumb turn from the inside of the door to throw the deadbolt.  A receiver disc has been inserted to utilize this function and the disc is included with the lock and affixed to the back side of the lock cylinder opening (both pieces are included in the set).

CYLINDER:  Comes with a vintage Corbin brass lock cylinder and two (2) keys.

STRIKEPLATE:  If you are replacing a Corbin 1349 1/2, you may not need a strikeplate.  However, if you do need one, please check with us as we may be able to include one with the set and then amend the write-up and price before you end the auction so we can include in the same package.
