Metal legends and thrash pioneers Pantera evolved from being a hair metal band in the mid 80s to a world class thrash metal group. The Abbott brothers ('Dimebag' Darrell and Vinnie Paul) were the core nucleus of the band, and they founded Pantera in Arlington, Texas, in 1981. They settled on bassist Rex Brown and singer Phil Anselmo a few years later. Phil came from New Orleans, and was originally in a glam metal band called Razor White, who I saw a few times in the early 80s. Pantera was glam metal in the early days because it was what was really popular at the time.

They transitioned to thrash over a few albums, but by 1990, they released 'Cowboys From Hell', and changed heavy rock music forever! Tragically, both Dime and his brother Vinnie Paul are no longer with us. Phil and Rex put the band back together, but with Zakk Wylde (a close friend of Dimebag) on guitar, and Anthrax's Charlie Benante on drums. Both of these rock stars had some really big shoes to fill, but they do an amazing job in the band right now!

(RIP Dime and Vinnie. Both of you were fantastic musicians, in every way. You guys started Pantera and helped make it one of the best thrash/groove/power metal bands of all time. Both of you are truly missed!)

In 1992, Pantera released their sixth studio album, and named it 'Vulgar Display of Power' (taken from a line in the movie 'The Exorcist'). One of the singles released is a song called "Walk". In '93, "Walk" got remixed (a couple of times), and it was released as a CD single. That same year ('93), a Japanese release with SIX very cool songs on a CD maxi-single came out, with the 'Cervical' edit remix, the 'Cervical' dub extended, the 'Biomechanical' remixes of "F***ing Hostile" and "By Demons Be Driven", and two live tracks! Very different electronic industrial remixes...

The disc itself looks new, and is shiny and clean! The case and artwork look great, as well. The insert has reprints of the band member's autographs. Please note, these aren't actual signatures, but COPIES of their signatures. I am not trying to sell them as signatures!

I'll also add TWO very cool bonus mags. First up is the April/May 2014 issue of 'Revolver' magazine, with an awesome cover story on Pantera's breakthrough masterpiece 'Far Beyond Driven', released in 1994, THIRTY years ago! Magazine is in good condition, a little worn (and read several times), but still intact, with no pages torn or ripped out, dog-eared, or written on.

We'll end with the February 2015 issue of 'Guitar World' magazine, with a Dimebag cover story! Titled '10 Years Gone: The Ultimate Dime Tribute Issue'. Filled with articles about Dime, Pantera's greatest songs ever, Dime's guitars, and even guitar and bass tab(lature) music for an unreleased Dimebag song titled "Whiskey Road"! Mag looks really good, with only a little shelf-wear on the cover, mainly on the spine. All other pages look great. No rips or tears, dog-eared pages, or handwriting anywhere on it.

Grab these Pantera and Dimebag collectibles today. The CD single is a Japanese import, and is fairly rare. Magazines from the past come and go, but these two particular issues are sweet, because they prominently feature Pantera and Dimebag! This triple shot is ready to come home with you today, and for a nice price!
