Legendary blues rock/hard rock/heavy metal singer David Coverdale quit Deep Purple in 1976. Sometimes people forget that he was in that band! Coverdale replaced longtime Deep Purple powerhouse singer Ian Gillan. Coverdale left Deep Purple and began a (somewhat brief) solo career. He recorded and released two solo albums, and the very first one, released in '77, is titled 'White Snake'. A name he would use again...

There's a track on 'White Snake' called "Whitesnake", and in the early days of the band Whitesnake, it was called David Coverdale's Whitesnake. Shortly thereafter, it was shortened to simply Whitesnake, and that band made some incredible hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal music through the lastseveral decades!

David Coverdale is the only member that's been on every Whitesnake album since the beginning. He's also had some amazing musicians that were in the band at some point or another. Whitesnake is still together, but the band has been trying to do a farewell tour since 2022. That has been put on hold for health reasons of a couple of members, and there's even talk of a 'farewell' album to follow with a tour. For now, everything is on hold though, so we'll see what happens.

Up for grabs today is a 12" picture disc LP of the first David Coverdale solo album titled 'White Snake'! This is a heavy and thick 180 gram vinyl record, that comes with a really cool discography backing card. The record is Coverdale's pic and a snake on the A side, with song titles and credits on the B side. They even list the album's musicians and their favorite alcoholic beverage!

Vinyl itself looks great, and is still shiny and clean. The backing card also looks new, and is a great collectible to own. (Obi strip built into the card.) This will ship between two pieces of carboard, in a cardboard record mailer.

I'll also add a Japanese import CD called 'The Best'! It's a greatest hits collection, through 1982. And there's three songs on here that were remade later on ("Here I Go Again", "Crying in the Rain", and "Fool For Your Loving"). The versions here are the original versions, and NOT the remakes! Early Whitesnake music to go along with the first album on picture disc. CD and case both look great. 70s and early 80s 'Snake never sounded so good!
