Marshalltown, IA CDV 2 pretty young girls, sisters w white collars, by Stubbs

I love this sweet pair of sisters. The younger, with her hand on her sister's shoulder for support (probably both physical and emotional) looks a bit surprised. Both are wearing lovely dark dresses with white collars and ribbons. The younger has lace-edged bloomers.

Below the image are:
"Stubbs" and "Marshalltown, Iowa"

C.J. Stubbs was active as a portrait and stereograph photographer in Marshalltown in the 1880s.

Yellowing to image. Some fading to image. Soiling to card & image and a shadow of where a frame once surrounded the photo.

Rounded-corner card measures 4.125 x 2.5 inches, and the image measures 3.625 x 2.25 inches.

My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able.

There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.

I am always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases, so please check out my other listings.

I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
