This beautiful basket is a great addition to any collection. Made in Japan during the 1950s, this original and authentic piece is crafted from natural bamboo with a woven pattern. It features a rectangular shape with dimensions of 10 inches in length, 5 inches in height and 7 inches in width, making it a medium-sized basket.

Ideal for all occasions, this basket is customized with a felt piece glued to the inside of the lid and comes with two handles. The basket had previously been used as a sewing basket and the felt held needles. It may be removed, but I didn’t want to damage the lid in any way. One of the hinges on the lid is bent a little, but it doesn’t cause any difficulties opening and closing the lid. Please see pictures. The colors of tan, brown, and green make it a perfect fit for any Asian-themed decor. The production technique used in weaving this basket makes it a unique item from the mid-20th century.
