For sale is a vintage Leitz Aufsu right-angle viewfinder attachment from the 1930s or 1940s, designed for Leica screw mount rangefinder cameras. This unique accessory enables photographers to capture images from a waist-level perspective or using the camera at an extended arm's length, ideal for discreet street photography and situations requiring unconventional angles. This model features the distinctive cross and circle marking in the viewfinder (2nd model).

Condition:

General Condition: The Leitz Aufsu reflects heavy use and wear and tear, yet it remains in fair to good condition overall, demonstrating its durability and functionality. Despite the visible signs of use, it can still be used normally and works properly.
Marks and Damage: Although signs of use are visible, there are no dents or other damaging marks.
Glass Condition: The glass is clean on the surface; however, there is some dust inside the lens. I have refrained from any cleaning that could potentially damage the unit or its glass, except for the use of compressed air to gently remove surface dust. The buyer is welcome to clean the unit in any manner they deem appropriate after purchase.

Leather Case:

The genuine Leitz leather case, included as a courtesy despite its poor to fair condition, is functional. It securely holds the Aufsu unit and assures safety when we ship it to the buyer. The case snaps shut from the outside. However, due to its condition, the value of the case is minimal. Your bid buys the Aufsu; the leather case is incidental.
