For sale is a superb plate made by Meissen in the 19th century I think. The blank does not have an impressed number which means it would date to pre 1740 but the plate does not strike me as being that old. The flowers are an odd style of half wood cut influenced and half not so well painted Deutsche Blumen so that is also a bit strange. I would say it is 19th century but ...The piece is hand painted with a nice floral arrangement in the center as well as two smaller flowers. The rim has a superb reticulated design to it which is called Bruehlsches Allerlei as it was originally made for Count von Bruehl. The rim is left in the white to show off all that superb detail of the porcelain itself. Gold ring around the edge. The plate is in great condition with some minimal wear mainly to the orange flower as shown and a bit to the gilding around the edge. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as shown. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 8.375 inches in diameter. German Germany 19thC
