This fossil gastropod (Pleurotomaria species) was collected many years ago from Conesby Quarry, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England and has been recently prepared and polished by Stone Treasures. It is approx 200 million years old, Lower Lias, Lower Jurassic. These type of fossils are very rare to find from the Frodingham Ironstone Formation and although it does have some restoration, it looks great on display and they do not come up for sale very often ! Excellent colour, detail and calcite preservation.

Size of specimen is approx 26cm x 14.4cm x 9.1cm, with the gastropod itself approx 8.5cm x 5.4cm.
