Vintage, wonderful condition & patina mortise lock, circa 1900, A Branford design that they marketed in the 1880 and that Yale continued after purchasing BLW in 1893 using the number 2433.
Completely restored, comes with a key, heavy brass face with blackout detail around the design, overall very nice, clean and functions perfectly.
Requires a standard size 5/16" knob post shaft.
Mortise lock has a face plate length of 5 11/16" and a width of 15/16" and thickness of 1/8".
Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
Screws are on 4 7/8" centers.
The drop from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key slot is 2 1/8". These were often used with black porcelain knobs.
Very nice lock, should last another 130 years!
