For sale is a really nice coffee pot made by Tettau in the 18th century . Tettau was founded in the Thuringis region around 1794 by two Greiner family members who also founded Kloster Veilsdorf. The company was granted a license for 15 years from the King of Prussia. They are still around today as far as I know which is an amazing feat. The style of the pot is in the typical classicism style of this period. One of my personal favorites with the fake screws holding the handles in place. The pot is hand painted with a large letter S in puce surrounded by a floral wreath held together at the top with a puce bow. Each side has a large floral arrangement to it with four small flowers along the top edge. Nice spout shape and a bit of puce trim to the handle. The lid has three flowers along the edge and two more on top plus a touch of puce trim to the handle. It's a nice piece for this maker and larger than any I have come across over the years. A great example! The pot and lid are in perfect condition with the usual minor firing flaws. It is marked underneath with the puce letter T. and an incised number 2. The pot and lid are 7.75 inches tall, 6.5 inches from handle to spout and 4 inches in diameter. Germany
