Each expansion circuit adds additional strategic elements and racing decisions that offer new challenges. Circuits can be played as individual races or be played as part of a championship season.
In Pole Position you will experiment with all the aspects of a real car race, such as pit stops, overtaking, collisions, yellow flags, DRS, etc. You should know which strategy to use depending on many factors like the state of your car, the weather conditions, the number of laps remaining, the traffic on the track, the state of your tires and, of course, your rival's strategy.
You must choose your strategy wisely, and adapt it to the racing situation in order to get the maximum benefit. In Pole Position, you will feel all the fun and excitement of real motor racing. There is no certain victory until the checkered flag is waved.
Pole Position is a race game that has the following features:
- Box entry: to change the kind of tyres and repair car damage.
- Climatology: get the best tyre according the weather.
- 4 types of tyres (soft, hard, intermediate, hard rain)
- Auction for overtake.
- Asymmetry of drivers and teams.
- Collisions, breakdowns
- Campaign mode: world championship
- 8 different circuits
Each race lasts 5 or 6 laps. In each race you have to choose which kind of tyres you use. Your strategy during the race is crucial:
- When to overtake: Overtake it's not an easy question, you have to decide the right moment.
- When and how use your break points, engine points and driver points during the race.
- When to enter box: this is a crucial decision in the game you have to enter your box depending on the weather and the car damage.
