For sale is a really nice serving or dessert dish made in
England in the early 19th century . I could not find another piece like
it so I am unsure as to the maker. Love the pattern! The piece has a
nice shape to it with a relief design to the edge and a handle to one
side highlighted with gilding. The rim of the plate has a yellowish
ground color to it with four different colorful designs over it with
another design in the center on white ground. The designs seems to be
printed in puce and then hand painted over that with some of the other
colors to give it more depth. Companies like Ridgway , Daniel ,
Davenport , Coalport or possibly Copeland come to mind and maybe someone
out there knows and could shoot me an email. I would certainly
appreciate it! A really nice looking piece! The dish is marked
underneath with a pattern number in red (I think it says 420) as well as
what looks to be an artist mark. Unmarked pieces are fairly normal
during this period of English porcelain. The dish is in great condition
with two small chips to the edge right next to one another and mostly
on the underside as shown with jus a bit visible from the top. There is
also an old firing crack to the edge as shown from when the dish was
made. Minor touch of gold wear as well. The dish is 1.75 inches tall,
9.5 inches wide and 9 inches deep. England Servierschale
