Here we have a 1960 RCA Victor, Model 1-XF-3JE (Chassis: RC-1190A), AM/FM, 7-tube radio with "Filteramic" antenna and Automatic Frequency Control (AFC). The cabinet is molded in egg shell white over bluish-gray. This color combination does not come up for sale very often. This unit is in decent overall, original condition. It works fine, pulls in stations well without an external antenna. It plays loud and clear, has a variable tone control, and a unique, neon pilot light (not for dial illumination). I replaced the bulb with a modern equivalent. The XF series are superior as far as the chassis goes, but the plastic cabinets do not hold up well over time. The plastic gets very brittle, especially the fins in the grille. I have had 3 or 4 of these radios and this example has the least damage of any of the others. The major flaws in this cabinet are documented in the photos above. There is also a faint red stain near the right rear edge that I couldn't get a good picture of . The control rings for the tone and tuning were yellow and deteriorated and the gray knobs for the volume and AM/FM controls had faded letters. I swapped them out with examples from a similar model. Please look at the pictures carefully. Item will be double-boxed for extra safety during shipping. Thanks for looking!
