A unique vintage Ukrainian dolls' house, hand-made by Polish-Ukrainian craftsman Piotr Gredziuk.

This is a model of Piotr's childhood home:  10 Ul. Szeroka in Kuty, Western Ukraine, as it was in the late 1930s.  Piotr and his parents were forcibly removed from this house on 13th April 1940 by the Soviet Army and transported to Siberia.  Although they all survived they never returned home. But the house still stands. Piotr built this model from memory c. 1992.

Steps lead up to an intricate wooden front porch with  glazed double doors opening into a hall and kitchen, which is furnished with a stove, dresser and chest of drawers with a hinged top. The hall also has an opening trap door leading to the cellar.

Two glazed double doors off the hall, left and right, lead to the two downstairs rooms, simply furnished with beds tables and chairs.  There are Ukrainian rugs on the floor.   All the furniture is hand made from wood and cloth.

The back door leads to a wooden verandah (which has occupied rabbit hutches underneath it!) A ladder on the verandah goes up to a trap door to the loft.   The loft itself is inaccessible, but it does have an opening skylight on the roof.

The house is constructed of wood on a leather covered base-board.  The windows and doors are glazed with acrylic.  The rear verandah is attached with magnetic catches and slides out so you can access the inside of the house.  The house has a 3.5V electrical circuit for the 3 ceiling lights and table lamp.  This will require a little attention to get it working again.

All the doors and windows open and close perfectly.  There is no sign of woodworm in the house.

There is also a set of 1/12 scale dolls' house furniture made by Potyr; a table, 4 chairs, armchair and sofa included.

This very unusual period replica house would suit a collector or teenager.
